Verizon's New Prepaid Plans: No Great Savings Here
Verizon Wireless on Thursday unveiled new prepaid data plans for some multimedia and 3G smart phones, including several BlackBerry and Droid handsets. The offerings include an unlimited data package for $30 per month; and a $10 plan with a stingy 25MB monthly cap (with a 20-cents-per-megabyte overage fee).

Hosted Service Promises to Protect Corporate Documents on Smartphones
Confidela's WatchDox is adding support for mobile platforms, starting with Android 2.2. Users can access selected, protected documents. But they can be restricted in being able to forward, print, or copy them. It uses an encrypted version of Flash to display documents, but a native version is being tested now for iOS devices like the iPhone.

The FCC has opened the next chapter in the debate over net neutrality with a new Notice of Inquiry seeking public comments and feedback on specific aspects of the proposed rules. BlackBerry Loses More Ground to Apple and Android
In a continuing trend, more businesses are shifting loyalties from Blackberry to iPhones and Android devices as the relative newcomers make inroads into the corporate world. Three-quarters of the 200 businesses surveyed in the United States and the U.K in the study reported that their employees are choosing other than Blackberry, Sanford C. Bernstein Ltd. reported to Bloomberg. The number was 83 percent for U.S. companies.
